Fat Drunk N Happy

Like all things magic in this world the really important occurrences seem happenstance at the moment but in retrospect all the pieces have been made to fit custom order. So it is with Fat Drunk And Happy, Orange County, California’s best podcast and newest food and beverage podcast. Featuring OC legends Chef Cody Storts, Chef Dave Mau and Bartender Amin Benny, Fat Drunk And Happy reveals “inside the insiders” world of the restaurant industry covering the kitchen, the bar and everything in between. All three of the characters have their own viewpoints, strengths and weakness but where all of them collide is a pretty special place - and a perfect petri dish of insight, humor and irreverence. So stick around for a bit, “sit a spell” as they would say and enjoy what these three characters have to offer. We’ll be here every week with new stuff for you, our esteemed audience, to enjoy. Cheers!

Cody Storts

 Cody Storts has paid his dues in the cut throat kitchen realm, making a name for himself as master Chef and purveyor of all things culinary from gumbo to poke salad. When not in the kitchen you can find him at a local Asian market, tamale stand, Trader Joe’s (or even Aldi) plying his wares or contemplating content for his serial podcast. Fatdrunknhappy was Cody’s creation, following on the footsteps of the Joe Rogan podcast, last podcast on the left, npr podcast and others that fell into the best podcasts 2018 for inspiration. Asking himself what is a podcast was the easy part, designing a podcast website, podcast app and all the bells and whistles was where his organizational genius came into play.
  

David Mau

Dave Mau has been around the block and back a few times and then came back for seconds and thirds. Wielding a chef knife has always been second nature to him and he has plenty of game about cooking. Sort of a punk rock Chef Boyardee, he also spends his summers being a hardly pampered chef cooking for cowboys above 9000 feet in the High Sierra near Yosemite. He has his own chefs story which is based on his deep love of Mexican food, Americana and all things rustic. He started out in the podcast realm with his own, Memphis Mondays. Sort of a Monday podcast brunch club featuring himself and another dear friend Cody Requejo - plus guets. They created a food psychology podcast that dove into the mindset of what we do in the industry. Launching via the apple podcast platform they soared into the free podcasts realm with both feet. They broadcast their message in a David Chang voice, speaking to both insiders and chefs, their content is like an ever-evolving chef movie told via the spoken word. From ramen recipes to bashing Martha Stewart and Sysco, they cover the culinary world via their good food podcast and create a unique space in the oftentimes mundane world of the top chef and food psych podcast and foodstuff podcast realm.

Amin Benny

​ Amin Benny was an early adopter of the mixology aesthetic and went on to great success in many avenues of the bartending world. If you google podcast you’ll find his name and fine reputation in the podcast directory associated with the likes of desert oasis room, page 7 podcast, Abe Lincoln’s podcast and the wizard and the bruiser. No stranger to both sides of the bar, if not slinging drinks you’ll most likely find him enjoying a refreshing Mai Tai at the Tonga Hut dressing in his favorite Hungry Ghost Press shirt - he’s easy to spot. With the countenance of Joey Diaz and the skills of the best barkeep, he treats whatever spot he is in like an oasis room providing the best cocktail recipes all from the heart. He flourishes in the middle ground between angelic food and beverage spectrophilla, chasing the ghosts of both via his refined palate. The is none better at commentary in this slice of what we do and he’ll welcome you to a place to call home. With a beverage and a smile he’ll find a spot for a stranger in his ice cubicle.
